Chelsea found her life’s calling after working with the wheelchair basketball team as a volunteer at the University of Illinois. She became enthralled with tailored, precise and structurally balanced rehabilitative programs and how they can help people from all walks of life. So, her journey to becoming a Physical Therapist began. As she was completing her physical therapy doctoral work at Northwestern University, she discovered the importance of health literacy as a means of patient education. This was particularly important in regard to lymphedema intervention following breast cancer, head/neck radiation, and lower extremity involvement. Now that her passions and training were established, she sought additional certifications through the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy to obtain her CLT as she started her career. She was fortunate enough to develop her skill set at the clinics at AMITA-St Alexius Outpatient Center where she worked full time and as a resource therapist and at a skilled nursing facility in Elk Grove Village. During this time she treated a range of individuals aged 5 to 95 years old with a variety of diagnoses including musculoskeletal dysfunction, post-op orthopedic surgeries, neurological pathologies, lymphatic impairments, as well as geriatric related involvements such as balance and fall risk. She is thrilled to being her practice to Elite where her patient plans can be supported with the most cutting edge techniques and technologies in the world. When she is not helping people move, live and feel better as an Elite PT, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their infant son and rescue dog and volunteering at the same animal shelter where she found her.
